Peter Ickes is a bright young attorney who advocates for clients with an aggressive, yet understanding, style. He understands that facing criminal charges can be one of the most stressful times in a person's life. Everyone deserves a defense and someone on their side, and that's what he will provide for you. He knows that deciding to hire an attorney is a big decision, and works hard so his clients can be confident they've made the right decision to retain him for their case. In his time at Stowers & Nelsen, Peter has handled nearly every type of criminal case, from felonies to misdemeanors, in both state and federal court.
Peter is a lifelong Iowan and has connections to nearly every area of the state. After growing up in Marion and attending high school in Cedar Rapids, he went to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for his undergraduate education. He then studied and received his law degree from Drake University in Des Moines. While at Drake, he participated as a Student Attorney at the Neal & Bea Smith Law Center Criminal Defense Clinic, and also spent time as a prosecuting intern at the Polk County Attorney's Office.
In his spare time, Peter enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing piano, and working out. He is an active parishioner at St. Augustin's Catholic Church in Des Moines.
